Toshiba Launches K01 Smartphone With Windows Mobile 6.5.3 OS
Toshiba has unveiled its new Toshiba K01 Smartphone powered by Windows Mobile 6.5.3 operating system and featuring a large 4.1-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen and a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
Unveiled at the Mobile World Congress, 2010 in Barcelona, the Toshiba K01 Smartphone, like in Toshiba TG02 Smartphone, features 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and has a 4.1-inch WVGA AMOLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) enabled full Capacitive touchscreen with 800 x 480 pixel resolution.
The Toshiba K01 is Toshiba’s first ever AMOLED enabled handset and it features a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard with backlight.
For data connectivity the Toshiba K01 Smartphone comes equipped with quad-band GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) and dual-band 3G network support that includes high-speed 7.2Mbps download and 5.76Mbps upload. The phone also features Bluetooth 2.0 and WiFi 802.11b/g wireless connection options.
The Toshiba K01 Smartphone has 512MB internal memory and featuring support for microSD card slot to allow up to 32GB expandable memory and phone also includes a 3.2-megapixel camera and built-in GPS with A-GPS (assisted GPS positioning).
Powered by customized version of Windows Mobile 6.5.3 operating system, the Toshiba K01 Smartphone also enables users quick zooming in and out of web pages, using a silver touch-sensitive strip beneath the screen.
There is no release date or price details for the Toshiba K01 as yet, for any market.
