Sony today unveiled its new Cybershot digital still cameras model, Sony CyberShot DSC-H55, that offers outstanding low-light performance, high speed performance, intelligent sweep panorama option and is capable of shooting video in 720p HD.

Sony CyberShot DSC-H55 camera features 14.1 megapixel CCD sensor and is equipped with Sony’s BIONZ processor and offer memory card slot supporting both Memory Stick (PRO Duo) and class-four and above SD/SDHC formats. The camera also features in-camera multi-shot Backlight Correction High Dynamic Range (HDR), that combines highlight and shadow detail of two separate captures into one remarkably natural looking image.

Incorporating foldable 25 mm equivalent wide-angle 10X optical zoom SONY G Lens, the Sony CyberShot H55 camera delivers outstanding sharpness and high-quality photos and it also features a 3.0 inch diagonal, 230K pixels resolution Clear Photo LCD Plus wide touch screen display which is touch screen capable.

Sony H55 also comes equipped with a innovative Intelligent Sweep Panorama feature that allows easy press-and-sweep motion to take panoramic photos and Handheld Twilight and Anti Motion Blur modes benefit from a high-speed burst of six frames, cutting picture noise by up to 50% for crisp, natural results in low-light conditions.

Featuring 720p HD movie recording, the Sony CyberShot H55 digital camera offers Optical SteadyShot image stabilization that helps reduce blur in photos without compromising image quality besides a Optical SteadyShot image stabilization with Active Mode is available which lets shoot smoother movie clips even if you are walking while shooting.

Optical SteadyShot image stabilization in combination with Active Mode allows a moveable lens element inside the Sony H55 digital camera to shift with 10 times the range of the Optical SteadyShot feature at wide end in standard mode to compensate for camera shake.

Some of the intelligent features of the The Sony H55 cameras includes; HD movie recording in 1280 x 720 @ 30fps, a Self portrait timer that automatically takes the shot two seconds after one or two faces are detected, and a Smile Shutter technology that automatically capture smiles and iAUTO and Easy modes.

The Sony CyberShot H55 camera will be available in black and silver this April 2010 for about $250.
