Sony Ericsson has today announced its only second Symbian Series 60 powered Vivaz Pro smartphone that is equipped with touchscreen display and features slideable QWERTY keyboard.

Powered by 720 MHz PowerVR processor with SGX Graphics, the new Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro smartphone is only second smartphone from company (other being Sony Ericsson SATIO ) that is powered by Symbian Series 60 mobile operating system 5th edition.

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro smartphone is quadband GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz network and tri-band 3G UMTS 850/900/2100 MHz network ready and is equipped with Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate and boasts of full QWERTY keyboard same as in original Vivaz smartphone.

To be available in Black and White colors, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro features a 3.2-inches, 16M colors, 360 x 640 pixels resolution TFT Capacitive touchscreen display made with Scratch-resistant glass and it offers 75-MB internal memory with microSD expandable memory card support for maximum 8-GB memory card.

On wireless connectivity front, Vivaz Pro offers pretty much complete connectivity options that includes GPRS and EDGE, 3G HSDPA 384 kbps, 3G HSUPA, plus built-in WiFi 802.11b/g/wireless network, and Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP connection. It also sports hi-speed microUSB 2.0 port for wired connectivity. Besides it also has 3.5 mm audio port, and JAVA MIDP 2.0 support.

Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro touch smartphone is equipped with 5.0 megapixel Autofocus camera offering maximum resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels and also offers true HD quality video recoding in 720p. The camera also provides Geo-tagging and smile and blink detection functionality and also feature LED flash.

Some other features of the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro Smartphone includes FM Radio with recording, TV-out (VGA) port, MP3 media player supporting MP3/WAV/WMA/eAAC+ audio formats , video player supporting MP4/WMV/H.263/H.264 3GP video files, JAVA MIDP 2.0 support for games and applications, and has built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support and Google Maps 3.0.

Weighing only 117 gms, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro Smartphone also comes preloaded with several multimedia and productive applications that includes Facebook and Twitter clients, YouTube and Picasa.

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro comes with Li-Po standard battery which provides upto 430 hrs standby and upto 12-hrs of talk time on 2G network and is expected to be available in Q2, 2010 but in select markets.
