SanDisk G3 Solid State Drive (SSD) Ships
SanDisk today announced that it has begun shipping its new SanDisk G3 Solid State Drives (SSD) to retailers in North America and Europe in 60GB and 120GB capacities.
The flash memory-based SanDisk G3 SSD is ideal alternative to a 7,200 RPM SATA Hard Disk Drive (HDD) for anyone seeking increased durability and performance with high reliability.
SanDisk G3 solid state drive was designed to offers PC users benefit from enhanced multi-tasking capabilities and improved system responsiveness so their everyday computing experience can be much more productive.
With no moving parts as in traditional hard disk drives, everyday task such as booting up, launching and running applications are much faster with the SanDisk G3 SSD. In addition, with no moving parts, files are less likely to be lost due to disk drive failure providing mobile end-users and others who rely heavily on their data.
SanDisk G3 SSD comes in a 2.5-inch and 1.8-inch form factors, with a SATA 3.0 Gb/s interface and in capacities of 60-GB and 120-GB.
The SanDisk G3 SSD is capable of accessing files up to twice as fast as a 7,200 RPM HDD allowing faster boot-ups and improved system responsiveness. In addition, the G3 SSD allows sequential performance of up to 220 MB/sec read speed along with up to 120 MB/sec write speed.
The 120-GB SanDisk G3 SSD can handle to 80 terabytes (TB) of data written to it over its lifetime and the solid state drive uses a smart flash management system called ExtremeFFSTM technology which accelerate random write performance resulting in extending the endurance of SanDisk G3 SSDs inside computers that use operating systems such as Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 7.
SanDisk G3 SSD is available now at www.sandisk.com via the U.S. and UK e-commerce sites in 60GB and 120GB capacities with prices of $229.99 and $399.99 respectively. The SSD drive will also be available at retailers in North America and Europe soon.
