Samsung has launched its affordable 3G capable full touch mobile phone in India, the Samsung Star Nano 3G (S3370) that features a large 2.6-inch, 256K colors capable QVGA touchscreen display with Samsung’s TouchWiz 2.0 user interface and is attractively priced.

Also known by Samsung Corby 3G, Samsung Pocket3G and Samsung Acton in the various markets where it is sold, the quad-band GSM network ready Samsung S3370 which is to be known in India as Samsung Star Nano 3G  is equipped with large 2.6-inch 256K colors capable, QVGA TFT Capactive Touchscreen display having 240 x 320 pixels screen resolution.

Samsung S3370 Star Nano 3G has a large 2.6-inch screen and with a 4 page menu and is equipped with advanced connectivity with 384kbps DL/UL (3G ready), Pop up SNS and fast multimedia downloads.

Samsung Star Nano 3G (S3370) phone includes with 50MB internal memory allowing upto 1000 number phonebook with Photocall feature and upto 30 dialed, 30 received and 30 missed calls records and offers microSD memory card support of upto 16-GB expandable storage.

The Samsung Star Nano 3G (S3370) full screen touchecreen  phone features Samsung’s TouchWIZ technology user interface which has a Widgets feature that enables users to have a selection of widget style mini applications open on its home screen. It comes with several Widgets built-in.

The TouchWiz 2.0 Plus allows seamless navigation home screen widgets, Gesture control and an interesting User Interface in all new manner. With handset also packs advanced SNS 2.0 feature allowing users to connect with their friends and family while being on the move through social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, and Youtube.

he simple ‘drag-and-drop’ technology allows selecting multiple widgets from the left panel of the screen which can simply be dropped anywhere on the main screen. A widgets is small portable chunk of code that can be executed without requring any additional programming etc.

Samsung India office said that “The launch of Star Nano 3G is significant as it represents our most affordable 3G touch screen handset as well as strengthens our portfolio of 3G enabled handsets as the country gears up for the roll-out of 3G services very soon.”

The new Samsung Star Nano 3G (S3370) touchscreen mobile handset offers range of connectivity including GPRS Class 10, EDGE Class 10 (236.8 kbps speed) and 3G, 384 kbps connection but lacks WiFi support.

Besides Samsung Star Nano 3G (S3370) mobile phone also offers built-in Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP connection that allows listening to music on bluetooth compatible headset absolutely wire-free and in full stereo.

For social networking the Samsung Star Nano 3G handset includes instant chat messenger applications that includes GTalk, AIM, and Palringo Chat. It also offers Active Sync Google Push e-mail service and sync calendar and contacts. Many more appls can be download free apps from Samsung Apps.

The Samsung Star Nano 3G (S3370) handset also features a single 1.3 MP camera with maximum still picture resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels featuring auto-focus and digital zoom along with smile detection.

The phone also records up to an hour of video with sound in QCIF resolution at 15fps. Video recording and decoding formats in H.263, H.264, 3GPP and MPEG4 video formats.

Some other features of the Samsung S3370 Star Nano 3G touchscreen phone include music recognition, FM radio, video recording, video playback that supports MPEG4, 3GPP and H.263 /H.264 and WMV Video formats, english dictionary, mobile tracker, fake call and mobile prayer.

The new Samsung Star Nano 3G S3370 comes with 960 mAh Li-lon battery which allows 7 hrs of talk time and upto 700 hrs of standby time and comes with an affordable price tag of Rs. 7,320 with one year warranty across India.
