Samsung has officially rolled-out a brand new iPhone killer Samsung WAVE S8500 smartphone powered by BADA (Ocean in Korea) mobile operating system and offers a large 3.3 inch AMOLED touchscreen LED display with a Samsung TouchWiz 3.0 user interface.

Quad-band GSM 850 / 900/ 1800 /1900 MHz and 3G UMTS 900 / 2100 MHz Network ready Samsung S8500 Wave smartphone  features a 3.3-inch, 16 Million Colors capable, 480 x 800 pixels AMOLED Capacitive full touchscreen display of Scratch-resistant glass and offers Samsung’s TouchWiz 3.0 user interface and is equipped with Accelerometer sensor and Smart unlocking feature.

The Samung’s TouchWiz  3.0 user interface which looks more like iPhone user interface provides customizable home screen and menus, and a Social Hub function that packs together email, instant messaging and social notworking services applications in a single unified interface.

Equipped with 5.1 surround sound, the Samsung Wave features 2-GB internal storage and comes with microSD expandable memory card support with upto 32-GB capacity offering 1000 entries phone book. The smartphone is also available with 8-GB internal memory model.

The Samsung Wave smartphone also offer exhaustive data connectivity options that includes GPRS class 10, EDGE Class 10, 3G HSDPA 384 kbps, WiFi 802.11b/g/N wireless connection, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, along with standard hi-speed microUSB 2.0 port for connectivity and charging.

The new 3G capable Samsung S8500 Wave phone features 5.0 megapixel camera with Autofocus, 4x digital zoom, 2592 x 1944 pixels resolution plus built-in LED Flash and Video recoding capability in true 720p HD quality with multi-codec support for DivX and Xvid. The camera also offers geo-tagging support in addition to being smile and blink detection capable.

Available in Purple color, the new Samsung S8500 Wave phone also features FM Radio with RDS, FM recording feature, integrated MP3 media player that supports MP3/WAV/WMA/eAAC+ audio file formats, video player allowing xVid/DivX/MP4/H.263/H.264 3GP, and offer support for JAVA MIDP 2.0, and has WAP 2.0 and full HTML browser.

Armed with 1-GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, the Samsung Wave is powered by BADA mobile operating that allows third-party applications integration and it comes equipped with GPS receiver with A-GPS support and Google Maps 3.0 preinstalled.

Equipped with 1500 mAh standard Li-ion battery that provides upto 7 hrs and 30 mins talktime and upto 425 hrs of standby time, the Samsung S8500 Wave smartphone also offers 3.5 mm audio port, support for JAVA MISP 2.0 and has built-in native Flash Lite v3.0 support enabling more richer browsing experience for flash enabled sites like YouTube.

The 3G capable Samsung S8500 Wave smartphone is expected to retail by Q2, 2010 but Samsung has not announced its price as yet.
