Samsung Launches W61 e-Book Reader Offering QWERTY Keyboard
Samsung has announced its new E61 e-Book reader that unlike Samsung E6 and Samsing E101 e-Book readers, features full QWERTY keyboard just like the one found on Amazone Kingle e-Book reader and supports epub, PDF and plain text.
The Samsung E61 e-Book reader sports a 6-inch 600×800 pixel resolution e-paper display that reflect light naturally and deliver an appearance similar to that of printed paper, allowing users more naturally reading experience than they would with other backlit electronic paper devices besides consuming far lower power than other portable display devices.
Only four hours of charging prepares the battery for up to two weeks of use and Samsung E61 e-book readers are equipped for wireless Wi-Fi 802.11b/g that allows users to download e-Book compatible contents such as books and newspapers from a server wirelessly.
In addition, Samsung E61 is equipped with 2-GB internal memory, microSD expandable memory slot allowing upto 32-GB storage and Bluetooth 2.0 allowing wirelessly share certain content with other devices. Samsung have also partnered with Google for e-book content offering large part using the search giant’s huge repository of out-of-copyright Google Books titles.
The Samsung E61 e-book rader is also equipped with a removable battery allowing users to change the battery without having to send the unit to service center. There is no word about Samsung E61 price or availability as yet.
