Samsung has launched in India its new 3G capable Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica Smartphone that runs on Google Android OS and features 3.2-inch AMOLED Touchscreen display and integrated GPS support.

Equipped with more power packed Li-ion battery that offers upto 11 hours of talktime, the new Samsung i5700 is qadband GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and 3G HSDPA 900/1900/2100 MHz network ready and is powered by 800 MHz processor running Google Android operating system v1.6 (Cupcake).

Also known as Samung i5700 Galaxy LITE or i5700 Galaxy Portal, the Samsung i5700 Galaxy SPICA derives its SPICA name after the brightest star SPICA in the constellation Virgo and is infact the newer version of Samsung existing Galaxy i7500 smartphone. The phone comes packed with Google maps, and many standard Android based apps including Google search, Google Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, and Google talk.

Weighing just 124 gms, the Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica is equipped with large 3.2 inch, 320 x 480 pixels wide 64K colors capable HVGA Capacitive touchscreen and features Accelerometer sensor for auto rotate and comes with 200-MB of internal memory with microSD memory card slot support for upto 32-GB expandable memory.

Data connectivity options in Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica smartphone  includes GPRS class 12, hi-speed EDGE class 12, ultra-fast 3G HSDPA 3.6 Mbps connection, wireless WiFi 802.11/b/g connectivity and Bluetooth 2.1.

The 3G network capable new Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica smartphone features 3.15  megapixel camera with digital zoom, 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution, geo-tagging and autofocus features. The camera also allows video recording in H.263 / MPEG4.

In addition, Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica also offers GPS with A-GPS support, a built-in digital compass, in addition to audio player that supports MP3 / AMR / AAC / AAC+ / e-AAC+ files and video player which supports MPEG4, and standard 3GP files. Other features includes a 3.5 mm audio jack and support for DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine) that provides 3D sound.

Equipped with a powerful 1500 mAh Li-ion battery, the new Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica smartphone allows upto 450 hrs standby time and 560 mins of talktime and retails for INR 14,750 in all Black and all While colors across India .
