Panasonic has recently announced its new rugged Panasonic ToughBook H1 Field Tablet PC that is fully IP65 and MIL-STD-810G certified with 6-feet drop rating.

Aimed toward field sales personnel, maintenance workers, and health-care professionals demanding rugged hardware who demand tough and rugged devices, the Panasonic Toughbook H1 Field is capable of withstanding a massive six foot drop,and includes several security features such as options for a contact-less or insertable Smart Card reader and a fingerprint reader, providing enhanced data and system security.

The new Panasonic Toughbook H1 Field Tablet PC is powered by Intel Atom Z540 processor running at 1.86 GHz speed and it includes 2-GB RAM, 64GB reinforced flex-connect Solid State Drive (SSD).

Panasonic Toughbook H1 Field features 10.4-inch XGA 500 nit brightness dual-touch LCD display that offers both tablet and touchscreen functionality and is powered by integrated Intel GMA HD graphics. The XGA display is equipped with a circular polarizer and anti-glare-cum-anti-reflective screen treatments, making it easily viewable in direct sunlight.

Featuring twin hot-swappable batteries that provides upto six hours of battery life, the Toughbook H1 Field Tablet PC weighs 3.4 lbs with two batteries and fully IP65 and MIL-STD-810G certified with 6-feet drop rating.

Made from Magnesium alloy chases, the whole Toughbook H1 Field Tablet PC is encased in tough Polycarbonate material and also features optional Qualcomm Gobi2000 mobile broadband technology allowing multi carriers connectivity, WiFi 802.11b/g/N wireless network connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1, Smartcard, GPS with A-GPS support, RFID and barcode readers, making the Tablet PC highly mobile and productive.

Measuring 10.4 (L) x 10.6 (W) x 1.3 – 2.3 (H) inches, the Toughbook H1 Field Tablet PC will be available worldwide in March 2010, for an estimated price of US $3,379.
