Nokia N95 8GB Becomes World’s First DLNA Certified Mobile Phone
Nokia yesterday announced that the Nokia N95 8GB handset has now the distinction of being world’s first ever mobile phone to have receive Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) certification making it the first mobile phone capable of sharing content with your other DLNA compatible consumer electronics in home via WiFi.
The DLNA is a body advocating the interoperability of wired and wireless consumer devices and DLNA technology enables multi-vendor home system of consumer devices by building a common connectivity platform for a variety of multimedia experiences enabling openness and seamless interoperability between devices and services from different brands.
DLNA certification of Nokia N95 8GB handset literally allows users convenient and intuitive connectivity between DLNA Certified home consumer electronics devices, personal computers, with Nokia N95 8GB.
There are already over 1800 DLNA certified products in the personal computer and consumer electronic segment, but this is the first time the stringent guidelines for interoperability set by the DLNA have been met by a mobile phone. The Nokia N95 8GB successfully passed DLNA’s rigorous testing process to receive the green DLNA Certified logo, making it a unique accomplishment.
DLNA has certified the Nokia N95 8GB as a Mobile Digital Media Server, and extensive connectivity, massive 8GB memory and multi-media capabilities of the Nokia N95 8GB would allow users enjoy content, such as music, photos or videos, wirelessly on other DLNA compatible devices in the home environment.
