Nokia and T-Mobile USA, Inc. today announced the upcoming availability of the Nokia E73 Mode Smartphone, exclusively for T-Mobile customers, that is claimed to be the thinnest full QWERTY keyboard Smartphone in market today.

Designed to help balance the need to stay connected with one’s work and personal life at home or on the go, the new Nokia E73 Mode, a Wi-Fi calling enabled QWERTY Smartphone operating on T-Mobile’s blazing-fast 3G network, includes Nokia’s unique Switch Mode feature, which allows consumers to switch between fully customizable home screens that help promote a work-life balance.

The new Nokia E73 Mode Smartphone runs Symbian OS 9.3, Series 60 v3.2 user interface and features 2.4-inch 240 x 320 pixels resolution 16.7M colors (TFT) QVGA display and includes full QWERTY keypad, Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotation and built-in Motion Sensor that silence the phone by turning it face down.

Expected to be available on June 16 through T-Mobile retail stores, the thinnest full QWERTY keyboard smartphone available from T-Mobile, the Nokia E73 Mode is the perfect device for business customers and consumers who appreciate both form and function.

T-Mobile customers also continue to get great mobile coverage with the device’s Wi-Fi calling capabilities, which allow consumers to use both cellular and Wi-Fi networks for voice calling. With Mail for Exchange, based on Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, consumers can receive their corporate e-mail, contacts and calendar pushed directly to their device.

The Nokia E73 Mode phone comes pre-loaded with services and applications to make life easier, more fun and more efficient. With Ovi Maps, a turn-by-turn navigation solution from Nokia using the device’s built-in GPS at no additional cost, consumers can get from point A to B with voice-guided directions – even when walking.

Also pre-loaded on the device is the Ovi Store by Nokia, which provides access to thousands of compelling applications and games including “Shazam” and “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.” In addition, Ovi Store enables a simplified purchasing experience for consumers by allowing payment for content billed to their monthly T-Mobile bill or via credit card.

The new Nokia E73 Mode Smartphone also includes support for services such as IBM Lotus Traveler, support for and access to Salesforce.com, Bloomberg and more to help business customers bring their office with them while on the go.

The Nokia E73 mobile phone comes with  250-GB of internal shared memory and it offers microSD memory card support of maximum of 16-GB of expandable memory.

For data connectivity, the new Nokia E73 Smartphone includes EDGE (EGPRS) Class 32 with 296 kbps speed, GPRS Class 32 connection, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g wireless network connection, 3G functionality (HSDPA) with upto 10.2 Mbps speed, 3G HSUPA with upto 2 Mbps speed, infrared port IrDA (115 kbps) and USB v2.0 miniUSB port for wired connectivity. There is also Bluetooth v2.1 EDR with A2DP connection.

Nokia E73 Mode mobile phone also offers 5.0 Megapixel autofocus camera with 2592 x 1944 pixels resolution featuring 4x digital zoom with integrated LED flash and is capable of recording video in full VGA resolution at upto 15 fps. Like in all 3G enabled phones, there is a secondary VGA resolution front-facing digital camera for video calling over 3G network.

Integrated media player supports MP3, WMA, WAV, RA, AAC, and M4A files while video player allows WMV, RV, MP4 and 3GP file support. It also includes FM stereo radio with Visual Radio feature and handset is capable of playing streaming video (3GPP).

Some other features of Nokia E73 Mode includes 3.5 mm audio jack, built-in GPS with A-GPS support and includes Nokia Maps 4.1, built-in Loudspeaker for integrated handsfree speaker, push to talk facility, voice commands and voice recording and is equipped with one-touch keys for Home, Calendar, and Email function, Side volume keys, a Mute key and dedicated Camera key.

It also offers support for JAVA MIDP 2.1, and comes preloaded with Opera Mini and Opera 10 full HTML browsers for full html browsing. Handset also offers built-in Flash lite 3.0 support and includes MS document viewers for Word, Excell, Powerpoint in addition to PDF files.

The Nokia E73 Mode also comes pre-loaded with many business productivity tools allowing employees to take their office with them wherever they may be. With applications such as Ovi Files, QuickOffice, Adobe PDF Manager and ZIP Manager, files can be easily accessed, sent, viewed and edited right from the device, allowing customers to be more productive from nearly anywhere.

The Nokia E73 Mode is expected to be available on June 16 through T-Mobile retail stores, select authorized dealers, and online at http://www.t-mobile.com.
