Microsoft has today announced new SideWinder X4 Gaming Keyboard that is equipped with Microsoft’s Advanced Anti-Ghosting technology that allows to press up to 26 keys at the same time without Ghosting delighting the gaming community.

Keyboard Ghosting is the tendency of the standard keyboards to lose track of key presses while another key has been held down that making gamers and users who uses a lot of keyboard shortcuts very unhappy. The new affordable SideWinder X4 keyboard from Microsoft provides such users a powerful programming and versatility to circumvent this problem.

While Logitech have been offering anti-ghosting keyboard with limited number of ten simultaneous key presses without Ghosting, Microsoft’s new SideWinder X4 keyboard now offers solution that allows to press 26 keys at the same time without Ghosting.

The SideWinder X4 anti-ghosting gaming keyboard also allows manually toggle the keyboard from standard mode to two either of two gaming modes with a LED indicating the selected mode. In addition, When a game or application profile is assigned using the software, the SideWinder X4 keyboard is able to detects the game or application running on user’s PC and applies his custom profile to the application.

Some other features of this SideWinder X4 Gaming Keyboard  includes: ability to switch among three banks of six programmable macro keys to assign up to 18 macros per profile, capable of recording any sequence of keystrokes, even standard chat messages as macro that can be saved on local hard drive for future use. In addition, the keyboard also features dedicated media keys for functions like Play/Pause, Previous Track, Next Track, and Mute and offers Backlit keys with option to adjust key-legend back-lighting with three illumination levels.

Compatible with all windows version including Windows 7 / Windows Vista / Windows XP operating systems, the Microsoft SideWinder X4 Keyboard would only be available in March 2010 at estimated price of US $59.99.
