HTC Legend Announced, Powered by Android Eclair 2.1
HTC has today introduced HTC Legend Smartphone that is powered by Android Eclair 2.1 mobile operating system and it offers an enhanced HTC Sense user interface.
Built around a newly enhanced HTC Sense, the HTC Legend boasts a unique design with a smooth, continuous surface, machined from a single block of aluminum into a seamless compact frame.
Announced at Mobile World Congress (MWC), BARCELONA, the new HTC Legend Smartphone is powered by latest Android 2.1 dubbed as ‘Eclair’ and comes equipped with newer version of HTC Sense user interface.
The HTC Sense is a user experience that revolves around three fundamental principles that were developed by HTC by observing and listening to how people live and communicate. These core tenets of Make It Mine, Stay Close and Discover the Unexpected continue to be the key to the new HTC Sense user interface build in HTC Legend Smartphone.
The new HTC Sense experience begins with a new HTC application and widget called HTC Friend Stream that seamlessly integrate all of user’s social communication including Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr into one organised flow of updates, making it easier than ever to focus on what friends are doing as well as to view the images and links that they share.
HTC claims that the new HTC Sense user interface also introduces broad improvements to applications including the browser, email client, IMs and others and includes a new newsreader application and widget, as well as a new seven-screen ‘Leap’ thumbnail view for quick and easy access to specific screens.
The HTC Legend is armed with 600 MHz Processor with 512-MB ROM and 384-MB RAM and includes a stunning 3.2 inch, AMOLED HVGA display. The traditional trackball has also been replaced with an optical joystick, surrounded by a narrow button to improve usability without interrupting its unique design.
HTC Legend comes equipped with 5MP camera with flash, and also features GPS with A-GPS support, Bluetooth 2.1 with FTP and OPP file transfer capabilities, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB tethering capabilities and weighs only 126 gms.
HTC Legend is expected to retail for $550 and would come first in Europe in the beginning of April 2010 and it will also be released unlocked around the world and in Asia in early Q2 2010. Visit HTC’s website for more details on the HTC Legend Smartphone.
