Fujitsu Introduces DoCoMo PRIME Series F-06B Waterproof Mobile Phone
Fujitsu has recently announced that its new docomo PRIME series F-06B mobile phone will be available in Japan from NTT DOCOMO, Inc. beginning June 9, 2010. The High-spec waterproof and rotating slide-screen mobile phone features a 13.2 megapixel camera capable of recording Full Hi-Vision movies.
The F-06B is Fujitsu’s first rotating slide-screen mobile phone that is water-resistant (IPX5/IPX7/IPX8)) and is equipped with a 13.2 megapixel camera capable of recording Full Hi-Vision) movies, as well as a large, easy-to-use 3.5-inch touchscreen display that allows users to comfortably navigate menus and view captured photos.
As Fujitsu’s first rotating slide-screen mobile phone to be water resistant, the F-06B was designed to be functional in a wide range of situations where users do not have to care about rain or water. Because it is IPX8 compliant, the camera can be used underwater at a depth of 1.5 m.
Besides, the Fujitsu DoCoMo PRIME Series F-06B features Wi-Fi tethering capability that enables it to be used as a wireless LAN access point for easily linking PCs and portable gaming devices to the Internet, as well as a full-featured electronic multimedia dictionary containing full versions of Kojien and other dictionaries.

As Fujitsu’s first water-resistant rotating slide-screen mobile phone, the Fujitsu DoCoMo PRIME Series F-06B combines three different user modes — a closed touch screen mode that allows users to quickly access information, a sliding mode that gives users convenient access to the keypad that they are used to, and a dynamic horizontal-screen mode that allows users to enjoy Internet and TV contents.
To make the most of its 13.2 megapixel camera, the new Fujitsu DoCoMo PRIME Series F-06B mobile phone is equipped with the Milbeaut Mobile image-processing engine and capable of recording Full Hi-Vision video footage (1,920×1,080 resolution) that is equivalent to videos taken by a digital video camera.
In addition, the Fujitsu DoCoMo PRIME Series F-06B waterproof phone also includes a variety of useful new functions that rival those of digital cameras, including a “Best Shot Select” feature, a smooth slow-motion video recording function, and a “Wide-angle Flash” feature. The “Best Shot Select” feature captures seven continuous photographs with a single press of the shutter and automatically selects the best out of these seven captured images.
The Fujitsu DoCoMo PRIME Series F-06B mobile phone incorporates additional features such as a large 3.5-inch touchscreen display with an improved response time, Wi-Fi tethering capability that enables the phone to be used as a wireless LAN access point for easily linking PCs and portable gaming devices to the Internet.
In addition, it also includes a full-featured electronic multimedia dictionary that contains dictionary data from 28 different reference books (22 dictionaries + 6 sectoral search volumes), including full versions of Kojien, English-Japanese Dictionary for the General Reader, and Shin Kangorin.
The Fujitsu DoCoMo PRIME Series F-06B includes an e-mail scheduling feature, which automatically sends e-mails at a designated date and time, as well as an automatic reply feature, which automatically replies when an incoming call or e-mail is received from a person designated in the mobile phone’s e-mail settings. Users can choose between three kinds of automatic reply messages, and the message content can also be edited.
The phone uses iWnn predictive text technology that can predict both English and Japanese text input. After inputting an initial letter, users can narrow down the remaining word options by pressing the right key to select each additional letter, making text input easier to use.
The Fujitsu F-06B mobile phone can also broadcast sound from its music player or one-segment TV tuner as an FM signal. Using the FM radio of an automobile or home stereo system, users can easily enjoy music at any time.
Measuring 115×51×17.1 mm the F-06B weighs only 139 gms the Fujitsu DoCoMo PRIME Series F-06B phone is available in three colors: white, black, and cyan colors and included battery allows upto 390 hours of stand by time and 250 minutes of talk time on a 3G capable network.
