Crossair Unveils 2.5-inch Nova and Reactor Series Solid State Drives
Corsair has today announced two new 2.5-inch Solid State Drives (SSD), the NOVA series and REACTOR series which comes with SATA II interface controller and offers various storage capacities
The Nova Series V128 offers 64-GB and 128-GB storage capacities, while the Reactor Series R120 offers 60-GB and 120-GB capacities and offers integrated data cache.
Both series solid state drives are standard 2.5-inch height and SATA II interface able and are build using MLC NAND chips with Indilinx Barefoot controller, and at least 64-MB of data cache memory.
The Nova Series SSDs are capable of high read speeds of up to 215-MB/s on both the NOVA V128 and NOVA V64, while data writing speeds for NOVA V64 is 130MB/s and 195MB/s for the NOVA V128 SSD model.
The REACTOR Series SSDs are capable of high read speeds of up to 250-MB/s for R60 and 250-MB/s for R120 model, while data writing speeds for REACTOR R60 is 110-MB/s and 170-MB/s for the REACTOR R120 SSD model. Besides REACTOR Series SSDs model offers a larger 128-MB data cache memory.
Besides featuring standard SATA 3-Gbps I/O interface, the REACTOR Series SSD models are also equipped with a hi-speed mini USB 2.0 port for wired connection.
Both Nova and Reactor series SSDs offers TRIM support that allows native OS to efficiently manage the data blocks without degrading the SSD performance.
