Hitachi Home Electronics (America), Inc., Business Group, continues to lead the way in providing end-users with networking capabilities with the introduction of the new CP-X3010N 3LCD projector. Hitachi addresses the growing demand for networking technology with tools that lower the total cost of ownership as a result of added convenience, security and ease of operation.

“With the CP-X3010N being the networkable counterpart to the CP-X3010, Hitachi offers networking options for projectors of all sizes and applications,” said John Glad, product manager, Hitachi Home Electronics (America), Inc., Business Group. “In addition, with a variety of network-related functions proprietary to Hitachi, our networking capabilities are renowned in the industry.”

The CP-X3010N offers unmatched performance and convenience, with a brightness of 3,000 lumens, a 2000:1 contrast ratio and networking capability.

The CP-X3010N features 16 Watts of built-in audio, eliminating the need for external speakers, while maintaining a low noise rating of 29 dBA in Eco Mode. Additionally, the CP-X3010N features a long lamp life of 3,000 hours in Standard Mode and 6,000 hours in Eco Mode.

The CP-X3010N also features Hitachi’s proprietary My Buttons functionality, allowing two programmable buttons on the projector to execute any projector command.

The CP-X3010N also offers input Source Naming, allowing users to rename input sources to fit their needs. Closed Captioning functionality is also available with the CP-X3010N.

Alongside the introduction of the CP-X3010N, is the release of Hitachi’s Projector Management Application (PJMan) Version 7. This proprietary technology provides the functionality to control, diagnose and manage an individual or group of Hitachi projectors from a single location.

The ability to produce queries and reports in real time is a new feature of this latest version, providing AV/IT managers with the ability to gather real-time and historical data to analyze projector usage and produce call tickets. PJMan’s advanced email, report and scheduling capabilities contribute to the lowest cost of ownership in the industry.

Additionally, Hitachi’s Projector Control Application (PJCtrl) allows a user to control the functions of their Hitachi Projector through a toolbar on their desktop or laptop PC. Since all of the functions for controlling the projector are on the PC, PJCtrl helps to reduce costs associated with lost remote controls and battery replacement.

Users can control up to five of the same Hitachi projectors simultaneously and can be customized to suit the user’s individual preferences and needs with PJCtrl. It also has an advanced control menu that is ideal for installation and maintenance. Depending on the projector model, users can control Hitachi projectors via a direct RJ-45 connection, an 802.11 b/g wireless connection, or an external Ethernet-to-Serial device.

With the importance of campus security, Hitachi’s proprietary My Image functionality allows AV/IT administrators to transfer still images, such as emergency alerts, from a PC to each projector on the network. When the My Image function is utilized, the images are automatically displayed on all the projectors, including the projectors that are not in use at the time.

This is ideal for applications in which multiple projectors are networked across a large space, such as a school, campus or large corporate environment. My Image is ideal for sending presentation images ahead to a projector, sending morning announcements to rooms on campus or sending important notifications.

Also, Hitachi’s Projector Messenger Application (“PJMessenger”) software allows an administrator to send real-time (or stored) text messages that appear on the screen of the projector. This is ideal for sending campus wide announcements and important notifications. When used in conjunction with the scheduling function, notifications can be shown at preset times, making each screen a virtual message board.

NVIDIA 3D Vision is a combination of high-tech wireless active-shutter glasses, a wireless USB transmitter, and advanced software that can transform hundreds of PC games and movies into an exceptional 3D experience.

The lightweight glasses, which can be worn over regular eyeglasses, can provide up to 40 hours of 3D entertainment on a single charge. For more information on NVIDIA 3D Vision technology, please visit http://www.nvidia.com/object/3D_Vision_Main.html

Projectors Have First-Rate Features for Improved Visual Experience at Home

Further contributing to the enhanced images, the ColorSafe and DLP® technology ensure picture integrity even with prolonged use, making the projectors virtually immune to color decay. The visuals are complemented by ample audio with an internal speaker on the new projectors with 2-watt output. External speakers can also be connected.

Up to 4000 hours of lamp life on the new Acer projectors reduces lamp replacement costs and ensures long-term dependable projector use. The extended lifespan and consistent image quality lower the total cost of ownership and translate to big savings. Further savings are ensured by the innovative DLP chip, enabling a filter-free design for lower maintenance and operating costs.

Designed to be used in a variety of locations, the new projectors will deliver superior visuals at home, the office or in a classroom. Thanks to the innovative wall-color compensation capabilities, the projectors display clearly – even on colored surfaces, so they do not need to be used with a screen.

Acer projectors correct vertical distortions of up to 40°, so the audience sees a rectangular image rather than one with a wider top/bottom, even if the projector is placed above or below the screen. Plus, all three models can be ceiling mounted and used with the included remote control. Customers can easily change the lamp module even when the projector is ceiling-mounted thanks to the Acer Top-Loading Lamp design.

Easy-to-Use and Eco-Friendly

To improve ease-of-use, Acer projectors are equipped with Empowering Technology, a suite of tools designed to simplify access to simple setup, viewing and timer utilities, making customers more productive.

The Acer eView Management capabilities let customers quickly and easily adjust the projector settings to suit any environment and any type of content. Eight factory or user-defined presets instantly configure color, brightness and contrast, to deliver best-quality images.

The new Acer projectors employ an environmentally friendly management solution – Acer EcoProjection – which reduces standby power consumption by up to 50 percent after five minutes of being idle.

Additionally, it delivers 20 percent additional power savings and automatically performs a safety shutdown if it does not receive input after a time interval that can be set by the customer. Also included in the Acer EcoProjection suite is Acer ePower Management, a tool that lets users create customized power-saving configurations.

The new Acer X1230PS, Acer X1261 and Acer X1130P video-projectors are backed with a one year warranty on the DLP chip and 90 day warranty on the lamp.

Mitsubishi has announced the launch of two brand new wide-screen format projectors Mitsubishi EW230U-ST (Short Throw) and EX270U WXGA 3D-ready projectors targeting cost-conscious customers looking for good value in classroom or meeting room projectors.

Mitsubishi’s EW230U-ST (Short Throw) and EX270U WXGA projectors are 3D-ready and produce high-quality, wide-XGA images at competitive prices.

Mitsubishi two 3D-ready projectors, the EW230U-ST short-throw model and the EW270U, offer great performance at an economical price. Even though these new projectors are part of Mitsubishi’s entry level product line, each feature a six-segment color wheel (red, blue, green, white, yellow and cyan) to produce rich and accurate colors, and are built using Texas Instruments’ DLP technology and BrilliantColor for superior color performance.

The Mitsubishi EW230U-ST and EW270U projectors are enhanced with an RJ-45 connector and integrated Crestron RoomView support for simple plug-and-play connectivity as well as HDMI for high-definition video sources.

They also include closed-captioning from supported content sources, and display 3D content viewable with DLP-Link-compatible active shutter 3D glasses.

The EW270U and EW230U-ST are both WXGA resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels capable and blast 2500 lumens and 2600 lumens, respectively. At 5.3 pounds and 6.2 pounds, respectively, both projectors are easily portable from room to room, with a direct power off function that eliminates power-down time and allows presenters to make quick exits.

Each 3D-Ready Wide-Screen and Short-Throw portable projector offers a substantial 4000 hour lamp life (in low mode), meaning fewer replacements over time, saving time and money. As a short-throw projector, the EW230U-ST can project a 60-inch diagonal image from less than 26 inches away, so teachers and presenters do not create distracting on-screen shadows while addressing their students and audience.

The EW230U-ST and EW270U projectors also offer a filter-free engine with a convenient top-loading lamp to make installation and lamp replacement simple and easy.

Each 3D-Ready Wide-Screen and Short-Throw portable projectors a monitor loop through and RS-232 interface for flexible installation options, as well as variable audio out so users can adjust a presenter’s volume through external speakers. They are also equipped with a reinforced anti-theft security bar for security-conscious users

All of Mitsubishi’s new projectors are environmentally friendly with an energy-efficient, long lamp life and digital user manuals; printed materials and packaging cartons are made with recycled paper. These projectors also consume less than one watt of power when in low stand-by mode.

Both Mitsubishi’s EW230U-ST (Short Throw) and EX270U WXGA projector comes with Mitsubishi’s three-year limited warranty on parts and labor, and a one-year limited warranty on the lamp.

Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America introduces two high-brightness, dual-lamp installation projectors using Texas Instruments’ DLP technology that can be used in 24/7 continuous applications.

The XD8100U XGA (1024 x 768 pixels) and widescreen WD8200U WXGA (1280 x 800 pixels) projectors offer a host of options to meet end users’ and installers’ most demanding environments, including those that run non-stop.

“These new dual lamp projectors are jam-packed with flexible options and features that allow systems integrators to configure them to match their customers’ most challenging display needs,” said Wayne Kozuki, product manager, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division. “We’re getting great feedback from the show floor at InfoComm.”

The XD8100U and WD8200U dual lamp projectors can operate in either single or dual lamp mode for a sharp and bright image (up to 7000 lumens and 5000 lumens, respectively).

With each lamp needing only one hour of shut-down period every week, this feature enables users to configure their lamp settings appropriate for applications that run non-stop 24/7/365 operation or in areas with variable ambient light.

Each model in this line is equipped with Mitsubishi Super Resolution, an exclusive menu-driven Mitsubishi Electric algorithm where the user can enhance the sharpness of a projected image. This is a truly must-see feature and will certainly amaze even the most critical users.

The new projectors also offer user-interchangeable color wheels for either brightness-intensive or color-intensive applications. Each unit comes with the high-brightness color wheel with an option to purchase the exchangeable six-segment color wheel that emphasizes richness and depth of colors. This flexibility allows users to match presentation content with the color wheel best suited for the application.

Both of the new Mitsubishi models offer geometric warping so images can be created on curved screens or surfaces, in either front- or rear-projection mode. They are ideal for museums, malls, casinos or other performance spaces such as planetariums or vision tunnels; artists and designers, for example, can create a globe lit with moving images or other visually-stimulating projected artwork on a curved, bent or arched surface. The possibilities are practically endless.

With the XD8100U and WD8200U, Mitsubishi introduces new edge-blending and color matching technology, which allows an essentially unlimited number of images from different projectors of the same model to be blended vertically and/or horizontally to create one virtually seamless and uniform image for maximum visual impact. Blended horizontal (left and right) and vertical (top and bottom) image edges gives designers an infinite canvas to show their display creation digitally.

In most 24/7 operations, cooling large projectors can be problematic, but the XD8100U and WD8200U offer a heat pipe cooling system much like a car’s radiator grill; it absorbs heat and funnels it away from the projector.

There are no moving parts and no liquid components so the projectors are extremely quiet with no additional power supply required for increased energy savings. Unlike other liquid-based cooling systems, there’s no risk of leaking, which can be dangerous.

Mitsubishi also announced a new self-cleaning filter system with these projectors. Each unit includes an automated rotating filter that allows users to schedule filter rotations automatically or manually on an as-needed basis.

The filter itself is a reusable mesh that has an estimated maintenance span of up to 10,000 hours (under normal operating conditions). When the filter needs cleaning, users simply rinse and dry it, reinstall and reuse the filter, which generates less waste, saves money and decreases overall cost of ownership.

Mitsubishi offers multiple optional lenses that support various room configurations and throw distances. These interchangeable lenses support a throw ratio range of 1.3 up to 9.0 front projection, plus a zero-axis 0.8 rear throw distance. The WD8200U and the XD8100U with its center lens design provides a new, quick and simple lens-exchange process.

The WD8200U and the XD8100U with its center lens design provides a new, quick and simple lens-exchange process. These projectors have a cut-out around the centered lens so switching lenses is easier, increasing installation flexibility while decreasing installation time.

They also offer an HDMI input for native digital signals and RJ45 Ethernet connection for remote networking management that supports Crestron as well as AMX remote management solutions.

The Mitsubishi XD8100U XGA and WD8200U dual lamp projectors are targeted for availability in the next few months. The projectors come with Mitsubishi’s three-year limited warranty on parts and labor plus a one-year limited warranty on the lamp.
