Nokia has recently unveiled its latest C-series mobile phones with three new products under the Nokia C1 name, as well as the new dual-SIM Nokia C2 which will follow at the end of the fourth quarter of 2010.

The most affordable of the Nokia C1 trio (C1-00) is priced at EUR 30 before taxes and subsidies and is the first Nokia mobile phone to feature a 2-in-1 double SIM solution.

According to Alex Lambeek, Vice President at Nokia, users can switch between SIM cards by simply holding down a key. This enables them to take advantage of reduced call rates, flexibility when traveling from one country to another, or helps with sharing a phone within a family and still use their own SIM. This is a great added convenience feature considering the low price of the phone.

Nokia C1 phone owners will also benefit from a standby battery time of up to six weeks, the longest ever for a Nokia mobile phone, especially useful in those parts of the world where access to electricity is sometimes limited. The standard flashlight – often someone’s only means of bright light – is paired with a vivid color screen and FM radio with standard headphone jack, meaning the Nokia C1 is as much about entertainment as it is about convenience.

The Nokia C2 phone features a dual SIM with dual standby capability which along with the many capabilities of the Nokia C1 phone, can also keep both SIM cards active; meaning calls and text messages can come to either number while the phone is on. The first SIM card on the Nokia C2 phone sits underneath the battery and the second is ‘hot-swappable’, a feature unique to Nokia which means it can be removed and inserted when the phone is on.

The new Nokia C2 phone also offers a wide range of information covering healthcare, agriculture, education and entertainment via Nokia’s Ovi Life Tools, as well as the email account for the developing world, Ovi Mail.

In addition to Ovi Mail, people’s favorite consumer email and chat accounts can be pushed direct to the phone via Nokia Messaging. Listening to music is simple with the FM radio and music player, with a massive amount of music storage with the phone supporting micro-SD cards of up to 32GB.

The second and third devices in the Nokia C1 family are Nokia C1-01 and Nokia C1-02 phone which are both single SIM products, and Nokia’s most affordable devices offering microSD compatibility, enabling people to store up to 32 GB of music, photography, or whatever other media suits them.

Both Nokia C1-01 and Nokia C1-02 phones bring very individual designs and exciting colors, bright color screens, web browsing over GPRS and access to Nokia web services such as Nokia Messaging. In addition, owners of the Nokia C1 phone will also be able to take video and photographs using the built-in VGA camera.

Nokia Bicycle Charger Kit
New alternative charging solution debuts

Nokia also unveiled new innovative Nokia Bicycle Charger Kit, an alternative charging solution built especially for people with limited access to electricity.

Providing free and environmentally friendly electricity for mobile phones, the Nokia Bicycle Charger Kit consists of a charger and dynamo, as well as a holder to secure the phone to the bike. When the kit is installed, the dynamo – a small electrical generator – uses the movement of the wheels to charge the handset through the standard 2mm charging jack used in most Nokia mobile phones.

According to Nokia, with this innovative bike charger, people get even more freedom to use their Nokia without worrying about battery life. Bicycles are the most widespread means of transport in many markets around the world, so this is just one more benefit to be gained from an activity people are already doing.

This is a great solution to a real challenge, whether people will use it due to limited access to electricity, or to be more environmentally responsible. The kit will be available before the end of the year in selected retailers and Nokia online and branded retail.

The estimated retail prices of the new Nokia mobile phones, before taxes and subsidies, are:

Nokia C1 (C1-00) EUR 30
Nokia C1 (C1-02) EUR 35
Nokia C1 (C1-01) EUR 39
Nokia C2 (C2-00) EUR 45

The Nokia C1 (C1-00) is expected to ship in the third quarter of 2010, with the Nokia C1 (C1-01) in the early fourth quarter, and the Nokia C1 (C1-02) and Nokia C2 towards the end of the fourth quarter 2010.

The High-spec waterproof and rotating slide-screen mobile phone features a 13.2 megapixel camera capable of recording Full Hi-Vision movies.

The F-06B is Fujitsu’s first rotating slide-screen mobile phone that is water-resistant (IPX5/IPX7/IPX8)) and is equipped with a 13.2 megapixel camera capable of recording Full Hi-Vision) movies, as well as a large, easy-to-use 3.5-inch touchscreen display that allows users to comfortably navigate menus and view captured photos.

As Fujitsu’s first rotating slide-screen mobile phone to be water resistant, the F-06B was designed to be functional in a wide range of situations where users do not have to care about rain or water. Because it is IPX8 compliant, the camera can be used underwater at a depth of 1.5 m.

Besides, the Fujitsu DoCoMo PRIME Series F-06B features Wi-Fi tethering capability that enables it to be used as a wireless LAN access point for easily linking PCs and portable gaming devices to the Internet, as well as a full-featured electronic multimedia dictionary containing full versions of Kojien and other dictionaries.

The Fujitsu DoCoMo PRIME Series F-06B is a water-resistant mobile phone that boasts unprecedented high functionality and performance which will satisfy the needs of PRIME series users.

The new mobile phone’s design features a distinctive arc frame that, when combined with the phone’s water-resistance and slim form factor, makes for a stylish end result.

As Fujitsu’s first water-resistant rotating slide-screen mobile phone, the Fujitsu DoCoMo PRIME Series F-06B combines three different user modes — a closed touch screen mode that allows users to quickly access information, a sliding mode that gives users convenient access to the keypad that they are used to, and a dynamic horizontal-screen mode that allows users to enjoy Internet and TV contents.

To make the most of its 13.2 megapixel camera, the new Fujitsu DoCoMo PRIME Series F-06B mobile phone is equipped with the Milbeaut Mobile image-processing engine and capable of recording Full Hi-Vision video footage (1,920×1,080 resolution) that is equivalent to videos taken by a digital video camera.

In addition, the Fujitsu DoCoMo PRIME Series F-06B waterproof phone also includes a variety of useful new functions that rival those of digital cameras, including a “Best Shot Select” feature, a smooth slow-motion video recording function, and a “Wide-angle Flash” feature. The “Best Shot Select” feature captures seven continuous photographs with a single press of the shutter and automatically selects the best out of these seven captured images.

The Fujitsu DoCoMo PRIME Series F-06B mobile phone incorporates additional features such as a large 3.5-inch touchscreen display with an improved response time, Wi-Fi tethering capability that enables the phone to be used as a wireless LAN access point for easily linking PCs and portable gaming devices to the Internet.

In addition, it also includes a full-featured electronic multimedia dictionary that contains dictionary data from 28 different reference books (22 dictionaries + 6 sectoral search volumes), including full versions of Kojien, English-Japanese Dictionary for the General Reader, and Shin Kangorin.

The Fujitsu DoCoMo PRIME Series F-06B includes an e-mail scheduling feature, which automatically sends e-mails at a designated date and time, as well as an automatic reply feature, which automatically replies when an incoming call or e-mail is received from a person designated in the mobile phone’s e-mail settings. Users can choose between three kinds of automatic reply messages, and the message content can also be edited.

The phone uses iWnn predictive text technology that can predict both English and Japanese text input. After inputting an initial letter, users can narrow down the remaining word options by pressing the right key to select each additional letter, making text input easier to use.

The Fujitsu F-06B mobile phone can also broadcast sound from its music player or one-segment TV tuner as an FM signal. Using the FM radio of an automobile or home stereo system, users can easily enjoy music at any time.

Measuring 115×51×17.1 mm the F-06B weighs only 139 gms the Fujitsu DoCoMo PRIME Series F-06B phone is available in three colors: white, black, and cyan colors and included battery allows upto 390 hours of stand by time and 250 minutes of talk time on a 3G capable network.

Apple has today launched its next generation Apple iPhone 4 Smartphone that features FaceTime for video calling and Apple’s stunning new Retina display, that delivers the highest resolution display ever built into a phone, in all resulting in super crisp text, images and stunning video.

The new iPhone 4 is armed with new A4 processor that provides exceptional processor and graphic performance along with long battery life. In addition, iPhone 4 also features a second microphone and advanced software to supress unwanted background noise for improved call quality when in loud places.

The front and back of iPhone 4 are made of aluminosilcate glass, chemically strengthened to be 30 times harder than plastic, more scratch resistant and more durable than ever.

iPhone 4 also offers 802.11n Wi-Fi networking, Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR wireless connectivity, GPS with A-GPS, Digital Compass and adds quad-band HSUPA to provide 7.2Mbps downlink and 5.8Mbps uplink capability.

In addition, new iPhone 4 Smartphone features a brand new 5.0 megapixel camera with built-in LED flash, capable of 720p HD video recording, a 3-axis gyro and up to 40 percent longer talk time—in a beautiful all-new design of glass and stainless steel that is the thinnest smartphone in the world.

The Apple iPhone 4 comes with iOS 4, the newest version of the world’s most advanced mobile operating system, which includes over 100 new features and 1500 new APIs for developers. The iOS 4 features Multitasking, Folders, enhanced Mail, deeper Enterprise support and Apple’s new iAd mobile advertising platform.

“iPhone 4 is the biggest leap since the original iPhone,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “FaceTime video calling sets a new standard for mobile communication, and our new Retina display is the highest resolution display ever in a phone, with text looking like it does on a fine printed page. We have been dreaming about both of these breakthroughs for decades.”

FaceTime is as mobile as your phone, so you can see your loved ones and friends anywhere there is Wi-Fi. Using FaceTime is as easy as making a regular voice call, with no set-up required, and you can instantly switch to the rear camera to show others what you are seeing with just a tap.

Apple’s stunning 3.5 inch Retina display has 960 x 640 pixels—four times as many pixels as the iPhone 3GS and 78 percent of the pixels on an iPad. The resulting 326 pixels per inch is so dense that the human eye is unable to distinguish individual pixels when the phone is held at a normal distance, making text, images and video look sharper, smoother and more realistic than ever before on an electronic display.

Apple iPhone 4 is the thinnest smartphone ever—9.3 millimeters—with an all-new design and build quality like no other mobile device. The front and back are made of aluminosilcate glass, chemically strengthened to be 30 times harder than plastic, more scratch resistant and more durable than ever.

The iPhone 4 features a new 5.0 megapixel autofocus camera with a 5x digital zoom, a backside illuminated sensor and built-in LED flash that allows you to take amazing pictures even in low light and dark environments. In addition, it allows recording and edit incredible HD 720p video and the popular tap to focus feature now works while recording video. Users can use the iPhone 4‘s LED flash for both still photography and video recording. The new iMovie app for iPhone lets you combine movie clips, add dynamic transitions and themes and include photos and music.

iPhone 4 is the best mobile device ever for games and entertainment, with access to tens of thousands of games and entertainment apps on the revolutionary App Store. Every iPhone 4 has a built-in 3-axis gyro that when combined with the accelerometer provides 6-axis motion sensing such as up and down, side to side, forward and backward and pitch and roll, making it perfect for gaming. Developers can access the gyro using the new CoreMotion API to make games and other apps that go well beyond what other mobile devices offer.

The new Apple iPhone 4 comes with iOS 4, the newest version of the world’s most advanced mobile operating system. With over 100 new features, it includes Multitasking, Folders, enhanced Mail, deeper Enterprise support and Apple’s new iAd mobile advertising platform.

With Multitasking, users can now instantly switch between any of their apps while preserving battery life. With Folders, users can easily organize their apps into collections by simply dragging one app on top of another. A folder is automatically created and named based on the category of apps selected. Users can change the name of any folder at any time. In addition, users can now customize their lock and home screens with an array of supplied wallpapers or with any of the photos on their phone.

The new iBooks app will be available for iPhone 4 as a free download from the App Store and includes Apple’s new iBookstore, the best way to browse, buy and read books on a mobile product. The iBooks app will sync your current place in a book, along with any bookmarks, highlights and notes you have created, between copies of the same book on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. iBooks users can also now read and store PDFs right in iBooks. There are now over 60,000 books available in the iBookstore, and users have downloaded over five million books in the first two months.

The new iPhone 4 delivers an amazing seven hours of talk time on 3G networks, up to 10 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi and up to six hours on 3G, and up to 10 hours of video playback and up to 40 hours of audio playback.

Pricing & Availability

iPhone 4 comes in either black or white and will be available in the US for a suggested retail price of $199 (US) for the 16GB model and $299 (US) for the 32GB model in both Apple and AT&T’s retail and online stores, Best Buy and Wal-Mart stores. iPhone 4 will be available in the US, France, Germany, Japan and the UK on June 24 and customers can pre-order their iPhone 4 beginning Tuesday, June 15 from the Apple Online Store or reserve an iPhone 4 to pick up at an Apple Retail Store. iMovie for iPhone will be available on the App Store for just $4.99 (US).
