D-Link and CTERA Network, today announced that the D-Link DNS-323 ShareCenter Network Attached Storage (NAS) solution has been enhanced with an integrated online backup service by CTERA.

Ideal for the data protection needs of “prosumers” and home offices, the online backup service safeguards against data loss and enables data recovery in case of disaster.

The online backup service offers D-Link 2-Bay ShareCenter users built-in offsite data protection that doesn’t require PC software installation and works automatically directly from the NAS appliance. Differential backups and data compression are used to ensure quick and efficient backup.

Users can now automatically and securely back up data to reliable cloud storage and recover and access their files using a Web browser from anywhere, at any time. They can also roll back their stored files to previous versions, up to 30 days old.

“We are excited to extend the value of D-Link’s highly acclaimed DNS-323 by offering CTERA’s cloud-based data protection services,” said Chris Gruber, Director, product line management, Storage. “With this cloud storage service fully-integrated with our hardware, we are continuing to offer D-Link customers the utmost in connectivity and disaster recovery with ease-of-use.”

Unlike existing PC-based online backup services, the solution does not limit data backup to a single PC. Rather, it lets users backup all their important files from any PC to their D-Link DNS-323 NAS unit and safeguard them locally and remotely on the “cloud,” with no limitations on file size, file type or the number of PCs on the network.

The DNS-323 ShareCenter Network Attached Storage (NAS) solution is part of the D-Link ShareCenter product line that provides greater performance, flexibility and protection against content loss than ordinary external hard drives.

Key Features and Benefits

Easy setup — no PC software installation required

Fully automated online backup

Unlimited file types and file sizes

HP has today unveiled a new category of web-enabled printing solutions designed for the cloud storage that will, for the first time, allow users to print their documents from any email enabled device to any HP printer from anywhere in the world with HP ePrint service.

The HP web-enabled printing solutions allows users print from any email device to any new ePrint-enabled printer from anywhere in the world through the new HP ePrint platform besides allowing to store documents or files in the cloud and print direct when needed.

The system transform user’s printers into publishing platforms from which they can customize print apps and schedule timed delivery of content – such as news from msnbc.com and Yahoo! and creative after-school activities from Disney – directly to their home or business printers.

The HP web-enabled printing solutions also manage and customize user’s full printing experience through the new HP ePrintCenter to enjoy relevant, fun and interesting content that is formatted for efficient printing.

To showcase these new solutions, HP announced a full suite of web-empowered e-All-in-One printers for home and business that start at $99. These will be the first printers able to “talk” to the “Google Cloud” without requiring a local proxy PC or web appliance, which means people will be able to access Google Docs, Photos and Calendar directly from their printers. A selection of new print apps from partners such as Yahoo!, msnbc.com, Facebook, Live Nation, Crayola, Reuters, DocStoc and Picasa Web Albums also will be available.

“We are once again revolutionizing printing to make web-empowered, cloud-enabled printing the new industry standard,” said Vyomesh Joshi, executive vice president, Imaging and Printing Group, HP. “We know that our customers want an easy way to print their content, anywhere, anytime. We’re making that a reality today by giving people the power to print from any web-connected device – smartphones, iPads, netbooks and more – to any printer in our portfolio above $99. The world has changed.”

HP web-connected products and services are supported by a digital print advertising platform that can be leveraged by print app partners. Customers can get premium content at no additional cost and brands can add value to their audience by populating select print content with customized messages, promotions and information like coupons or local services.

HP ePrint:

The HP ePrint platform harnesses the cloud to break down the barriers of distance and connectivity and allow people to send the files they want to print from their mobile devices. From a mom and son printing drawings from an iPad, to an executive on a train sending a presentation from a Palm Pre or Blackberry smartphone to print and pick up at a FedEx Office store, HP ePrint allows people to print anytime, anywhere.

Every HP ePrint printer will have a unique simple email address that allows the sender to deliver a print the same way they would send an email message. Customers also can send documents to print through an HP ePrint mobile app on their smartphone device to a home, office or public print location such as a hotel or FedEx Office store. Customers will be able to send Microsoft Office documents, Adobe PDFs and JPEG image files, among others.

HP ePrintCenter:

The HP ePrintCenter is an online hub for all HP customers to explore new services and customize their printing experience. For example, people can register their products and receive updates according to their preferences, configure their devices, track ePrint jobs, and browse and suggest new print apps.

Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, AVAD Aviator was founded in 2008 by a former military pilot, charter operator and airline CEO, AVAD Aviator addresses the diverse needs and complexities of the world of aviation.

AVAD Aviator is an aviation-dedicated Web search portal offering a wide variety of information and listings in all genres of aviation, including events, airports, FBOs, N numbers, FAA-certified aircraft, medical examiners and certificate holders, manufacturers, dealers, brokers, new and used aircraft and parts, aviation jobs, and a host of other aviation items and related businesses.

“Until now there hasn’t been a comprehensive aviation portal equivalent to this,” says Ken Chase, president of AVAD Aviator. “We have in-depth aviation experience spanning more than 40 years, which gives us unique insight into the needs of today’s aviators. We also understand that having current and complete information about the many facets of aviation is critical to efficient and cost-effective aviation operations, whether we’re talking about a for-profit operation or aviators that just want to fly for fun and enjoyment.”

At present the AVAD Aviator database contains nearly 1.5 million records and is growing daily. At http://www.AVADAviator.com, anyone can find or present virtually anything related to aviation, including aircraft and parts, ground support equipment, aviation jobs, avionics, and a multitude of ancillary businesses to support most aviation interests.

Visitors can also find their favorite organizations where they’d like to donate their time, aircraft, and resources to causes such as mercy flights, disaster relief, aviation museums, and others.

All listings are free for seven days. AVAD Aviator also offers the convenience of auto-renewals for as little as $.67 per week to keep listings running continuously.

“Our goal is to offer the most current and inclusive aviation Web site possible,” says Chase. “By charging a nominal fee for renewals, we’re ensuring that all listings are attended to and useful.”

“Given the current stressed economic times and the introduction of our Web site, we feel the time is right for aviators to streamline and optimize by moving unused items, finding the best buys available, and staying abreast of the pulse of aviation,” Chase adds.

Power users can also use a free and convenient bulk upload service, critical to those who want to keep their product lines up-to-date and more visible on the Web. Most importantly, every listing is optimized for maximum exposure on the most popular search engines like Google, Twitter, Yahoo, and Bing.

OEMs and ODMs have a faster and more economical way to design and develop WiMAX 4G residential gateways, routers and other CPE with broad VoIP and IP communications capabilities by using enhanced vPort-GW with support for Sequans’ SQN1210 WiMAX SoC,.

The combined solution delivers ultra high speed Internet access and optimizes carrier-grade VoIP functionality.

“With the WiMAX adoption rate accelerating within the industry, OEMs and ODMs are looking for ways to more rapidly introduce new products that take advantage of a WiMAX network’s stability and speed,” said Georges Karam, Sequans CEO. “By partnering with D2 Technologies and integrating with its vPort-GW, we can help customers minimize risk and accelerate time-to-market for a variety of VoIP-enabled CPE through a superior WiMAX turnkey solution that offers a lower implementation cost.”

The joint D2 – Sequans solution is capable of delivering dramatically reduced power consumption over previous generation technology for the three global WiMAX bands: 2.3, 2.5 and 3.5 GHz.

Opera Software today released latest version of popular Opera Browser 10.50 for Windows platform, that it claims is the “fastest web browser ever available for Windows platform till date” . Mac and Linux versions are also expected soon.

The Opera 10.50 browser features the new Opera Carakan JavaScript engine and a graphics library Vega enabling the browser load pages faster and execute Java based web objects much faster than the older Java versions. In addition, the latest version of Opera browser is also said to include improved standards support for HTML5 and CSS3.

The Opera 10.50 browser has also clad a completely new design, adopting some of the style elements Google Chrome browser offers and provides all features of standard Opera Browser that includes Opera Unite, Opera Turbo, Opera Link and Private browsing.

The Opera Unite allows users to easily share their files, and serve content from their browser without needing to know how to setup and manage a web server. Opera Link is Opera’s synchronization service that keep user’s bookmarks shared across computers and devices.

Though Opera Link has been available since Opera 9.50, the Opera Unite feature was only included in the Opera ver.10.10, and both features require an Opera-Account to work.

Opera Turbo feature has been available since Opera v.10, and is a server-side compression technology, allowing web page load several times faster by compressing the web content before it is downloaded to user’s computer.

Claimed to beat the latest Google Chrome 5 (dev) and Firefox 3.7a3 browses in terms of performance, the Opera 10.50 also includes a new widget technology with which widgets created for Opera could run independent of the browser as long as it was installed.

Opera 10.50 browser (for windows platform) also features a revamped UI which makes full use of Aero effects available in Windows Vista and 7 besides fully supporting Windows 7 jumplists, and tab previews.

The Opera 10.50 browser also features privacy browsing mode in the browser which unlike the private browsing modes in Firefox and Chrome where whole browser window converts into private browsing session, allows for private mode browsing on a per-tab basis leaving other tabs untouched.

The new Opera 10.50 browser is free and is right now only available for Windows. Download Opera 10.50 from the Opera website.
