Canon has launched its new PowerShot SD1300 IS compact and high-zoom Digital Camera in USA that is equipped with 12.1 Megapixel sensor and offers up to a 4x optical zoom range.

Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS digital camera represents a significant milestone in the evolution of the ELPH series through the combination of superior image capture functionality and Canon’s touch screen technology.

Offering today’s photographer a compelling blend of cutting-edge photo capture technology and superior styling, the new PowerShot SD1300 IS digital camera offer increased shooting flexibility in a number of settings via more improved Smart Auto mode while offering greater photo personalization and enhanced creativity with new Scene Modes and Image effects.

The addition the Canon camera also offers Fish-eye and Miniature Effect modes that help photographers add a creative element or lend a humorous look and feel when capturing images of their favorite household pet or landscape scene.

The Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS features a 28mm wide-angle lens,  has 12.1 Megapixel sensor and offers an f/3.1-5.9 lens and 4X continuous optical zoom.

The PowerShot SD1300 IS allows users to capture dramatic close-ups or broad landscapes with ease, while the 12.1-Megapixel resolution ensures stunning image quality.

The camera also features a large 2.7-inches color TFT PureColor display at the back for improved visibility and glare reduction with enhanced Control Dial with Hints and Tips.

Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS is capable of recording HD video in 720p in upto 30 frames per seconds and for shooting video, the camera has the ability to zoom optically, shoot in stereo sound and has Dynamic Mode Image Stabilization for improved image clarity.

The Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS  is also equipped with optical image stabilizer and it features a dedicated video record button instead of a option in its Legendre  shuttle dial wheel.

Available in in five colors viz. silver, pink, green, blue and brown, the Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS is scheduled to be available in late February 2010 for an estimated retail price of $199.99.
