RIM in partnership with Tata Teleservices has launched Blackberry Curve 8530 Smartphone in India that is going to be available to Tata Teleservices’s CDMA customers who can use the device for e-mail, messaging, social networking, multimedia and entertainment.

The Blackberry Curve 8530 smartphone comes with a full-QWERTY keyboard, 256 MB flash memory and 528 MHz next generation processor Qualcomm MSM7600 528 MHz processor, for better performance and runs Blackberry 5.0 OS.

The phone has microSD card slot supporting upto 32-GB extended memory and has built-in Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g wireless LAN connecivity, GPRS, EDGE, 3G,  Bluetooth 2.1+EDR with A2DP wireless connecivity and GPS with support for location-based applications. There is also a microUSB port connection for wired connectivity.

The Blackberry Curve 8530 sports 2.46 inch 320 x 240 pixels TFT display that is made from scratch resistant material and capable of supporting upto 65K colors. The handset also features legendary full QWERTY keyboard and is equipped with a new touch-sensitive trackpad in place of traditional trackball making the handset more robust.

The Blackberry Curve 8530 also features 2.0 MP camera with video recording in QVGA resolution and there is built-in audio and video media player too along with dedicated media keys and a 3.5 mm stereo headset jack.

Users also get access to BlackBerry App World featuring a broad and growing catalog of  third party mobile applications for Blackberry device developed specifically for BlackBerry smartphones.

In addition, users can also access email, messaging that includes IM, SMS, and BlackBerry Messenger along with popular social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace. The smartphone alsosupports 10 email accounts, including most popular ISP email accounts such as Yahoo!, Windows Live Hotmail, AOL and Gmail, and BlackBerry Enterprise Server support.

Tata Teleservices expects that the BlackBerry Curve 8530 supported by their extensive CDMA network will appeal to young professionals and students who want easy-to-use smartphones with rich communications and multimedia features that allow them to stay connected through social networking sites, instant messaging services including BlackBerry Messenger, and email.

Tata is offering until 30th June 2010, free data services for two months along with the BlackBerry Curve 8530 that allows users to enjoy watching free live TV for the first 3 months if they subscribe before 30th June, 2010.

The BlackBerry Curve 8530 for CDMA network will be available from Tata Teleservices across India for Rs. 18,990 with one year warranty.
