Asus DR-950 e-reader Offering 9-inch Touchscreen Display Announced
Just last week Asus announced DR-570 e-reader with 6-inch color OLED display and now company is announcing their plans for introducing a 9-inch version of their e-reader named as DR-950 featuring 9-inch Sipix monochrome full touchscreen screen.
The Asus DR-950 e-reader supports all the standard e-book formats including PDF, TXT, ePub and also offers supports for Audible, and MP3 media files.
The 9-inch monochrome display is 1024 x 768 pixel screen resolution capable and is based on 16 shades of gray as in Jinke e-reader. The display has the touch-screen incorporated and offers text-to-speech feature based on Svox engine, which supports 26 languages. The e-reader is equipped with 4-GB of internal storage and microSD card expansion slot allows upto 32-GB additional memory.
In addition, the new Asus DR-950 e-reader also features built-in web browser that works in portrait or landscape screen orientations, virtual keyboard and handwriting input application, RSS reader and dictionary with real-time translation.
The e-reader measures 222 x 161 x 9-mm and weighs about 0.370 kgs and some other features of this new e-reader includes built-in WiFi and HSPA radios, 3.5-mm headphone jack and stereo speakers.
